Does hair dye stain your skin?

first of all, is hair dye supposed to touch your scalp or is it just supposed to be on your hair? second, if it is supposed to touch your scalp will the hair dye stain it? sorry, im new at this :/

Don't massage it into your scalp but do bear in mind it will color your scalp slightly (but temporarily). Use Chap Stick or Vaseline around your hairline to keep your skin from being colored. It's best to have a friend do it if you're going to do it at home. But since you're new at this and since results at home can be disasterous, I'd go to a colorist.

It can touch your scalp just immediately wash it off. When I dyed my hair the dye got stained on parts of my hairline but it washed off within 4 days.

hair dye wont really do anything to your skin except stain it. I dont reccomend you get it on your self but its up to you. (I may cause a slight buring and it you get any in your eyes it will hurt and may cause blindness)

It's ok if the dye touches you scalp as long as you don't have an allergic reaction. I've been dying my hair for over 5 years now and my scalp has never been stained. If you see remnants of color in your scalp, wash your hair out more thouroughly until the water is clear. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.
