well i want to dye my hair am going to buy my hair dye at walmart i have my hair black but i want to dye it like a light brown what dye is good for my hair that really works and i possibly will get some high lights please help 10 OINTS BEST ANSWER

okay heres the deal ,buying color to darken your hair is easy and unsafe but easy!buying dye to lighten your hair is not only hard but dangerous,you have two steps first you have to bleach your hair and then color it which if using store bought products could fry your hair!what you wanna do is go to your local beauty school ,let them do it .its very cheap and it will be done right with professional products that wont break off your hair and will last .if you decide to do it on your own ,best of luck and please remember some of the worst damage ,is the damange you cant see!

Nice and Easy makes a dye for dark hair -I think it's called True Brunettes. It says on the box that it is made to dark hair, and will make your hair lighter. I use the ash color because my hair is really dark too, and it always lightens it up perfectly.

i use loreal when i'm dying my hair. but if your hair is black it might not look like you want it to afterwards. try a salon where they can bleach your hair color out first. {{ if you change your mind and wanna go for a more outrageous color, i would use splat. you can get it cheap at walgreens and it comes with bleach }}

i have been doing my own hair since i was 13 and trust me, black is the hardest color to pull out... You might get it a bit lighter if you do like a blonde dye but it might also turn out orange.. i would def go see a professional if your going to dye over black hair..

also whatever you do make sure the base color is NOT an ash color cuz your hair will turn green or gray. And if the base color is neutral you have more of a chance of getting your hair lighter..
