Brown Hair Dye Over Red?

HI,

I dyed my hair red a few weeks ago and i then put a brown dye and blonde streaks in my hiar...it looked ok but now the streaks have turned ginger...lol

I was wondering would a brown hair dye cover the streaks and the red easily?

If you choose a darker shader, it SHOULD cover the lighter shades effectively, but the previous poster is right: if you want a guarantee, go to a salon.

You can't. You need to go do it again.

I think your hairs just gonna go pink or something. go to a hairdresser.

It depends on what your true colour is....it would turn orange...seen that happen on a friend of mine.

Red is really hard to get out. I'd been wearing it for years now and just recently decided I wanted to go back to my dark brown roots and it took a couple of times to get.

If you try the brown again it has to be the dark brown. Or if you can, go to a salon where you can avoid any further problems....like green hair! lol!!! j/k good luck!

If your not trained in how to color your hair beware.

It's hard to know what bases are in the store brands and if your hair is porous (soaks up water quickly) you could end up with some funky looking hair(and I don't mean good funky)

the hair turned ginger because of the warmth of the red still being present under the brown. this is possible to get rid of with a brwn hair dye providing it is darker in colour then the red so the hair will grab it and eradicate the warm tones that are present with the red being there. ensure you pt for a dark brown whether you do this at hom or in a salon where the results are guaranteed

it will presumably - but only for some weeks.

the kits you can buy are mostly semi-permanent, what means, they fade stronger as a professional dye because of washing and growing.

in the end, you're likely to have to go to the hairdresser, so why not going immediately and save the money you'd have to spend on the dye?

Hey

You would have to get quite a dark brown hair colour as it would most probably fade after a few weeks and the colour you had before would show. But DARK brown should cover just fine. :)

hope i was some help.
