Is hair dye bad? My mom said if I dye my whole hair, it'd be bad? What do I do?

dye has a lot of harsh chemicals in it that can cause your hair to break over time if you use a lot of heat on your hair (blow dryers and curling irons). its better to get it done professionally since they will judge the care of your hair and choose the best dye strength for you.

You don't say how old you are.If it is done correctly,then your hair should be fine.You would need to go to a salon for this.However in four weeks time your roots will be through,and it will need doing again.

no, hair coloring is not bad or dangerous...it is a cosmetic, meaning it is not permanent and can change a person's appearance, for better of worse

always have a sensitvity test prior to using any chemical on the scalp... I do not advise that you undertake an enorous change alone... have aprofessional do it... call a salon that has color specialists not just any old hairdresser who claims to do both... be careful with bleaching while it is a wonderful tool to remove unwanted or un needed pigment it can be a weapon in the wrong hands

F.Y.I if your hair is naturally black that is a level 1 and will not lift very much with color alone... hair color can only lift a maximum of 3 levels and as your hair is so dark you will have a lot of natural red pigment to contend with

but

if your hair is tinted black the only thing that will bemove it is stripper or bleach... color does not lift color

You are putting chemicals on your head, so yes, it is bad for you. Especially bleach. Also, with bleaching and dying your hair a lighter color, a lighter dye strips the color from your natural hair, really drying it out. I would suggest just keeping it dark.
