Would hair dye for black people be damaging to my hair?

I'm pale-skinned white with dark hair. I've always wanted to try going blonde and thought that the sort of blonde some black women have looks cool and - because we both have naturally dark hair - maybe blonde dye for black people would work better than blonde dye for white people on me.

I THINK youcan see my picture in my profile. However, I'll add it in a moment just in case.

Ok,I use to work at Walgreens and I had white female come in and ask me the same question....I actually needed help with that question and I was told by one of my co-workers that white people cannot use black people hair dye.She had a friend who did and her hair fell out...

I'm black and I was told by a hair stylist to NEVER use black hair color. She told me it would fry my hair. I would suggest just going to a salon and getting it done there. It will take strong chemicals to lighten your hair to blonde and you want to make sure you don't damage your hair by doing it yourself.

If you are thinking about hair color, my advice is go to a hair supply store that has wigs first. This may seem a little funny, but if you sample the hair color you want with a wig first, you will be able to tell if it is a good tone for your skin complexion before you go under the bottle. Lots of times hair color does not turn out good because of their hair color and because of how it looks against one's skin tone.

So I say: try a wig on that has your desired color and see how you like it before you go dyeing your hair.

i dont think it would be good the hair textures are completly different, it really doesnt matter that your color is the same.

I would tell you that is a bad idea. If you go to a salon that has a hair color swatch book (most SHOULD have this) then they can help you pick out a good color. Unless you are just wanting to do it at home yourself, then you just gotta wait and see how it turns out, but I know for a fact that ethnic hair products would not be good for you. Be Careful:)
