i want to dye pieces of my hair either a ice blue or pink. but my hair is black. do i need to bleach my hair. or do they have any products for this kind of dye.

yep, if the color you want to put on your hair is lighter than your hair color you are going to have to lighten it first. Otherwise, it is like coloring on black paper, you can't see it.

well, i thinkyou may need to bleach your hair first. it depend if you want it nice and blue or just tinted blue. if you dont bleach it first it will just tint it. try manic panic tho, that works pretty good, but bleach what you want to dye first i would say. good luck! ( i did this to my hair once! and this is what i did, my hair is dark brown)

Yuor hair would need to be bleeched to go such a light colour! I dont think your hair woul;d bleech mine wouldnt and its light brown! Im sorry but why would you want to spoil your hair with colours like that in it - that means you wouldnt look right wearin others colours! Dont do it!

u need to bleach it cause youre hair is so dark so bleach it like blond or white then color it use pink it's a lot hotter

Yes you will need to bleach your hair. Think of your hair like a painted canvas. For example, if you have a black wall and you want it ice blue or pink, if you put those colors over the black wall is it going to show up ice blue or pink. No. Another reason why hair color won't do that without bleaching it out first is because hair color is to a certain degree sheer and doesn't just cover over your natural color. I think one of the best brands to this day still for extreme colors is Manic Panic. You will need to bleach your hair to nearly white to get ice blue or pink. If you have any yellow left in you hair then the blue will turn green and the pink will be more orange. I would highly recommend going to a reputable salon to get this process done because whenever bleaching out hair, many things can go wrong. Best to leave it to the experts if you don't want to have to spend hundreds to do a corrective color in the end. Good luck. Also, just for thought. If you want pieces of your hair colored those colors, why not get a few extensions put in. This way the color itself will stay more vibrant and true to original color longer and you won't have to compromise your own hair texture to get it light enough so that the colors come up the way you want them to. You will find that if you do end up bleaching out your own hair that the color will fade pretty quickly and you will need to do repeated applications to keep it looking fresh. You can easily do these at home though.

I have dark brown hair and dyed it pink. There's a product made just for darker hair. Its made by L'Oreal, and its called Colour Rays. The ******* Flash shade is pink. I used it last year, and it turned out great.
