okay so i had caremel, honey light brown/ dark blondish hair. the other day i dyed it brown myself with box hair dye. then i went to the salon because i hated the dark hair and had highlights done so now i have brown hair with caremel highlights.I like the highlilghts and the color of my hair at the roots (its lighter there) but i want to change the all over tone to a lighter color so i want to go buy a box hair dye of a blondish color and dye my hair tonight. but i dont want my hair to end up being all one color and ruin my highlights.i spent a lot of money getting them done and it would be a waste. is it possible to dye my hair and still keep the highlights?

get sunlight... there's like a shampoo or smth that if u use it, it'll make ur hair get lighter faster if u stay in the sun for a while tanning or playing sports or anything

No can do, dye cant lighten hair thats already been dyed dark when you went to the salon the first time you should of had them bleachout out the dark and redyed it lighter, nothing you can do, do not dye over you highlights!

If you can figure out a way you need to come into the field of hair color! You said it you paid a lot for these highlights and if you put a color over it not only will you ruin the highlights you will end up with a different color all over....

Try to put each of your dry highlights into foil or somthing and then dye the rest of your hair. Then after rinse all of the dye out of your hair CAREFULLY whil holking up the highlightsout of the water and wash the dye out good and dry ti quickly. Hope I helped!!!
