Black hair dye.?

I dyed my hair black 2 weeks ago with Feria 'starry night' permanent hair dye. I don't like it (like most people who make the mistake of dying it black). Originally I have dark brown/black hair. I don't like the harsh black in it now, but I am NOT going to bleach it out. I have been washing it every 2 - 3 day with dandruff shampoo and herbal essences. Every time I wash it the water and soap suds are a blue/black colour. I know it is washing out ... but I can't see a difference in my hair colour. I have only ever dies my hair twice, and the hair dye never washed out like this.

Is the black hair colour actually coming out? Or is it just wishful thinking?

Go to your local salon or look around for tea tree shampoo i promise you it will fade your color quickly!!

It might be coming out. If you really want to strip it, use dishwashing liquid, (not a whole lot and only once or twice) it's harsh and it will dry your hair out some but it will take alot of the dye out quickly. Just use a good conditioner or leave on pack afterwards. Lesson most of us have learned, hardly anyone looks good with dyed black hair, it's too flat. Good luck!

permanment hair dye is only suppose to last 28 days.. so its possible that its washing out.. but unlike other colors black is the one that will stay in ur hair a lot longer then others.. my advice is if you really dont like it go to a professional and get a strip done on it... it takes away any color that u put in it and should take u right back to ur natural color!

Black hair dye.?

yes, it will be washing out but only the pigments that didn't "develop" into your hair properly, it won't really lighten either as permanent is pretty much permanent until it either grows out or you use something like colourfix colour remover which will remove all artificial pigment out of hair that was put in by a haircolour.

Black hair dye.?

Know what you mean, been there and done that, try washing up liquid as a previous answer said, it's not that fierce but be careful you don't get it in your eyes. Any really intense colour can take a while to wash out, be careful next time.

The residue will wash out over time but the depth will remain,go to a salon for a consultation,it may work out cheaper and less damaging to your hair than doing it yourself.

Hi Tiny.

I hope it isn't wishful thinking. I too have dyed my hair black (from natural dark brown). A mistake, I think (although bearable).

I've been washing my hair with Head and Shoulders (apparently that helps fade it) but I can't see any difference.

Most people say "go to the hairdressers" but I can't really afford it. I think I'll see if it fades in the sun! (Or washes out in the torrential rain!) Good luck X
