Effects of hair dye?

im just a teenager, that wants to dye her hair to be cool, and for fun. but im worried about damaging my hair if i decide to dye it. what does pernament dye do to your hair, and dye that is non-pernament, what are the differences in the effects and which one damages your hair more? and how badly? if thier is a brnd of hair dye that dosnt damge your hair (if it exists) please email me a link to the website of the store where its sold

Effects of hair dye?

dying your hair doesnt make you cool. they will or dry out your hair

Effects of hair dye?

Don't dye your hair.

I've died my hair with permanent, semi-permanent, %26amp; demi-permanent hair dye.

I've trie all kinds.

They all damage your hair.

Work on getting your hair soft, shiny %26amp; strong.

People will complement it more :)

Effects of hair dye?

Just don't do it. It'll wreck your hair and the dye will fade and your hair will look horrible and the more you dye it the worse it gets

Effects of hair dye?

It will damage your hair...

If you do it anyways, just make sure to not do it often. I'm saying once every six months or so.

Give your hair time to regain strength and look beautiful before going on with it.

The best thing you can do is just embrace your natural color. It's the most beautiful color for you.

Effects of hair dye?

damages your hair after a while

Effects of hair dye?

It will dry out your hair, and is TOTALLY bad for it. Just leave it its natural color and get it silky and smooth. It makes such a difference! And don't do it just to be cool, if you are going to dye your hair, do it because you really like the color or something.

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

Hi i want to dye my hair at home, and have bought a light brown hair dye. my hair is naturally blonde of which i have the top dyed a lighter blonde. I also have roots and was wondering what the effect would be if i just put this light brown colour on, how would it affect my roots and would it turn my hair green. I was going to put a root touch up kit on 1st then put the colour all over , but i think this may be disastourus. Can anyone help me through past experince or through just knowing please.

Thanks Jules

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

if u are touching up with a darker color then thats fine. do the roots first then pull through entire head. the only time i will say no is when going lighter.leave that to professionals. just remember roots first. everytime you dye ur hair u are depositing color on top of color so old growth will appear darker. thats why roots first then the rest of ur hair. good luck.

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

I don't see why there should be a problem. How long ago did you get your hair professionally done? Too much hair dye in a short amount of time can be bad for your hair.

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

STOP STOP STOP

Dont do it !!!!

Professional dyes are just that. You cannot mix the 2.

If you want green hair I guess you could, or to have it break right off from the chemical reation.

You must ask a professional. If you trust your hair care expert, ask them. If not, try asking at a couple of salons in the area, you dont have to have them do the work, but you should see what they say. It doesn't hurt to ask.

In most cases you must strip out all of the color in the hair to let the new color come through properly. If you dye over dye the color will not be true, its like painting a wall, if you dont prime it first the under color will show through.

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

Putting a darker colour on top would be ok, you might get highlights through your hair from the different shades of blonde

It depends how long ago you had the colour put in at the hair dresser

Can i dye my hair with a proffesional hair dye already on it,?

Actually, you can mix the chemical together, but the problem will be from not knowing the outcome. It definitely could turn blond green if it is a cool shade, and red, if it is a warm shade. I would never, ever recommend doing it yourself this way. The money you will save doing it this way right now, you will lose tenfold when you have to pay for corrective services as well. Good luck!!

I have a question about hair dye...any and all help is welcomed.?

About two months ago I dyed my hair a dark brown, Clariol Natural Instincts number 20, the hazelnut. Instead of leaving my hair deep brown it left it black. I want my hair brown. I tried dying it brown but we all know it doesnt happen. I used a hair color remover less than a week ago and it didn't work, but I didn't have enough for all of my hair. It did lighten it some and I hoped that it would work, but when I dyed my hair again with a brand that showed starting hair as black and the end result as brown, my hair still was black with tones of brown.

I want my hair brown. I can't afford to go to the salon right now. So I'm trying to do this myself.

I have two ideas, one is hair color remover kit again and leave it on longer.

The other is to dye my hair blonde and then dye it brown. My concern is with both, will my hair turn green?

Can anyone reccommend the right hair dyes to use?

I want to go for a light brown, like a natural dirty blonde.

I have a question about hair dye...any and all help is welcomed.?

use clairol born blonde maxi (at cvs or walgreens) and lighten to the shade you want. then use a toner from sally's beauty supply. your hair will have an orange/reddish tone (called brassiness) after the lightening process so you are going to want to use a violet based brown toner. this will put a purple deposit on your hair that will cancel out the brassy tones and make it neutral in color. the sally's sales person can help you with instruction on how to mix the toner with the developer (level 10 developer is deposit only)

I have a question about hair dye...any and all help is welcomed.?

Using any type of color remover on your hair kills it. If your hair is black, try using hair products for color treated hair. But instead of picking brown, go with blonde, it should gently lighten the hair.

If you bleach your black hair blonde (first off thats way too much bleach, your hair would probably fall out) it wont turn green, if you do it at home most it might turn more orange as Ive seen it turn that color even at the salon,

I still suggest shampoo/conditionar.

Check out Walgreens, their cheap, and get the job done.

Hair dye questions!?

I am going to dye my hair or buy a wig (haven't decided yet) for this thing me and my friend is going to.

I have blonde hair...and here is how it looks...

http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/...

And yes I covered up my face...I don't really want a picture of me on the internet.

That is my hair color...and I need to dye it a light brown...like...

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/q...

That is Al Elric...if you didn't know...and that's who I am dressing up as and my Friend as Ed.

So if I were to dye my hair a brown like that, would it stain? O and I would be using the wash out stuff. If It is going to stain or damage then I will be more comfortable to get a wig. I really like my hair and would be sad if it was stained or something.

Can someone give me the best wash out colors and the best color that would match that and if it would stain my hair or not! Thanks!

Hair dye questions!?

Your hair seems very close to the one in the picture..

Yes, it will 'stain' your hair.

I have blonde hair aswell, I dyed it brown just for a quick change, I used the 28 day washout stuff, and it stayed in for four months, I ended up hating it and I used another 28-day washout to get my hair back to its original state, it's not as nice as I liked it, but it's bettr then the brown.

You have beautiful hair, are you sure you want to risk not having it again?

If it's only a one-day thing, you can't go wrong with a wig!

Best of luck!

Happy Holidays!

Hair dye questions!?

stain your hair? wtf. Go get it done professionally if you are really that dumb and think you can 'stain' your hair. HAHAHA

Hair dye questions!?

wash out never works hon. bad bad idea. i have had many long lasting experiences with washout... just get a wig. you can use it later for some more things, and you won't ruin your pretty hair!

Hair Dye Horror?

I bought an intense dark red hair dye and dyed my hair last night. Due to what i think is having red tones in my natural dark brunette hair because the last time i dyed it red it turned out lighter. This Time It's way too bright! i hate it =[. I've used dish washing soap twice and clarifying conditioner, it's helping a little bit. I want to dye my hair a more warmer brunette. can anybody help? anything to help it fade more?

Hair Dye Horror?

put a ash brown over your hair.

Hair Dye Horror?

put lemon juice in ity,or swim, the chlorine washws off light colour or darkens light colour. After like four hours

Hair Dye Horror?

Maybe you should see your hairdresser before you do irrepairable damage to your hair.

Hair Dye Horror?

make something beautiful out of something u hate. make u like and dont worry wat others mite say.

Hair Dye Horror?

Oh, I've been there! What should have been a beautiful, elegant dark cinnamon shade turned MAGENTA!

Unfortunately, you're probably going to need to dye it again. Most brands have an 800 number for just this sort of thing. When I had my hair dye horror, they recommended getting a medium golden brown shade. It helped a lot.

Hair Dye Horror?

Did you buy it at a drug store or department store? Go to the nearest "Sally's" and ask a proffessional. What you're doing will not work; I know, I am a hairdresser. No one can give you the correct answer, without seeing your hair!

To have it proffessionally corrected will cost you more than most people are willing to spend, my price starts at $100.00 and goes up according to length of hair, amount of product used, time and knowledge invested. I make alot of money correcting mistakes made by do-it-yourselfers, mostly teenagers, and, believe me, they do not make the same mistake again. They are my best advertisement for this type of problem.

And you need to buy a top brand-named conditioner and use it, now!

Dish detrergents and clarifyers will strip your hair of essential oils and should only be only be used before a chemical service to remove medications or mineral deposits (e.g. iron) that have coated the hair shaft.

As for my advice, take it or leave it. It's your hair!

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

Errrrr i just recently finished dyeing my hair and did all the washing your hair method after you dye. When i i finished i notice that some part of my hair are dyed, but not all of them. I am a boy and i dyed the part at the front of the hair (tip) You cant really see the dye, but if u go close you can see a little. I might have screwed up while dyeing my hair. Did i put to less of those dye? Did i not wait long enough to wait until the hair dries or I screwed up?? Did i not shake the mixed enough or what? Should i re dye? I am also not sure if i really dyed the tip part or i cant see the color because it blends in with the normal color i have? The color dye is golden dark brown and my hair is simply black

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

Are you asian? Because black asian hair cannot be dyed using the color that you would like, to get brown results you have to use a dark blonde dye in order for it to show up. But I recommend getting it professionaly done so you can't screw it up.

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

Yuck good you can't see it. I hate it when guys dye the tip of their hair. It is not attractive.

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

You're going to need to bleach out your hair and then apply toner before you take your hair lighter than it's natural color of black.

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

Get it done professionally.

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

if your hair is black, you'll need to strip the hair of the color first and then dye over it - you can re dye if you wish, but i would go to a professional if you only want bits of your hair dyed - at least for the first time.

Hair Dye results!!!! Terrible?

As long it is close to your natural haircolor and it is not noticable then you are in good shape. Now if your hair is black and you said it was. Black hair is a hard color to lift up with just plain hair color. Hair color is just that a color. When you want to add highlights which is what I think you meant to do, you will need to Buy a hair color with peroxide in it or go to the bueaty supply store, get you some 20 volume bleach and bleach out the tips of your hair first. Then apply a color to the bleached out tips. Make sure a friend helps you to apply the bleach because it is a very strong chemical and it can burn your skin, eyes, etc. Be sure to condition hair very good before and after a bleach everytime. Since your hair is black I think to make it show up your highlights, you are really going to have to use bleach of 20 volume or 40 volume. I told you to get 20 volume because you have already used a lifter on your hair and you may ahve some damage. But if your hair is in good shape then use a 40 volume bleach to lift the tips and then use a toner to add color. A toner will take out the brassiness or the yellowish color that bleached hair has sometimes. You can also buy a new product at your buaty sullply store that is called something and I forget the name of it... But ask the person in the store and tell them that you would like to purchase the haircolor with bleach already in it. They sell this now and it really works to! The streaks that you now have in your hair are fine and you have not messed up your hair by the way you explained yourself. It does seem that the next time you do a color, you might think about purchasing two bottles of color to satuate all the hair. Remember to condition after a color. Infusion three moisturizer shampoo from wal-mart is great! I hope that this helps you out some. Thank you and God Bless You!

Hair dye delimma? :/ ?

Well...I dyed my hair about two mos. ago with a demi-permanent black hair color. I really liked it! (However, a lot of people didn't. :/ ) But anyway...

It still hasn't washed out of my hair much at all (possibly because my hair color was so light to begin with...?), but it has just faded really badly to a dark brown-ish color, only on the bottom layers of my hair.

My hair is pretty damaged right now due to everyday blow dry/straighten, only on the ends though, but I am going to get the damage cut off this weekend.

I want to keep my hair black until at least after summer...

But I am thinking that eventually I may want to change it in far future. (I get bored a lot. lol)

My question is, is should I re-dye my hair with demi-permanent again, or with a permanent dye?

Which would be better?? :O

Thanks~閳?:%26gt;

dont the demi permanent

How to Pick the Right Hair Color based on your hair color and undertone to avoid color failure

http://geebal.blogspot.com/2007/10/how-t...

Hair dye...?

how can i remove it from my face?please

Hair dye...?

wet washer you should of wiped it while you put the colour on..it comes off every time when you have a shower

Hair dye...?

rub cigarette ash on your skin, then wet a towel and wipe it away

Hair dye...?

Black hair dye stains can be removed using rubbing cigarette ash over the skin, dipping milk in cotton balls and rubbing over the stained area or even nail polish remover

Hair Dye ?

At any regular drugstore..which perm color brand would you go for, and why?

Hair Dye ?

I use Feria it is the only one that does not dry out my hair.

Hair Dye ?

Ooohhh... Ive heard waaayyy too many at-home-perm-horror stories to EVER attempt that!!

I'd go to a salon for a perm, with a hairdye I like Garnier or Loreal, I'd try to stay away from the cheap stuff..

Hair Dye ?

you really have to be care full about your choices, they place all types of strain chemicals in the products. to reach the picture "effect". avoid all with dihphomicloride , this will fry your hair in no time better to let a color professional do it and not be sorry later!! good luck and go get it girl!!

Hair Dye ?

It depends on your hair. What works for a friend will look totally different (and maybe worse) on you. I have been dyeing my hair for 20 years and it's a total crapshoot. Once you find something stick with it! Never hope to get a better color 'cause switching brands can ruin you. I am a bleach blond. If you want great blonde colors: Feria X-Lite Bleach Blond rocks! No yellow/brassy tones. I've also used Feria when I was a redhead. I think they offer the richest, multi-faceted tones. Good luck!

Hair Dye ?

I use clarol , or gardner.

Hair dye!?

Anyone know the name of a non permanent hairdye maker for home application.

Hair dye!?

J F Lazatigue has a home shampoo colour system that is ammonia free and peroxide free so even allergic people can use it. The colour washes out after a while, depending on how often you wash your hair.

Hair dye!?

Manic Panic does not last but a few days. At least not for me. But that is if your wanting a unnatural hair color like blue or green.

Hair dye!?

I think that most brands that have permanent colors also make temprary. you just have to check them and see if they say temporary or permanent. Almost all of them are home applications. Hope this helps

Hair dye!?

I know that Color Pulse by Loreal (i think) is semi-permanent (washes out in 8-12 shampoos.) My advice would be to go to a store and look for a level 2 dye. These are semi permanent, which actually do add some color unlike single washing types.

Hair Dye..?

Well, i've had trouble with this, and i wonder what colour would look best on me? (other then brown!) (: so if you can help, please do.

Hair Dye..?

I think any shade of auburn would look smashing on you!

Best of luck to you!

Hair Dye..?

Red,black,or blonde with highlights.

Hair Dye..?

a goldeny blonde

Hair Dye..?

I think you have gorgeous hair the way it is! But if you're looking for a change, maybe auburn or dark blonde (golden) highlights.

Hair Dye..?

you would look really cute w/ blonde and highlights like this...http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u248/... or w/ dirty blonde like this...http://l.yimg.com/img.tv.yahoo.com/tv/us...

Hair Dye..?

Ash blonde is definitely the right color for you.

It will look similar to this.:

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

Ok so i've dyed my hair quite a bit in the past. I have like two tubes of that conditioner that is supposed help keep the color in your hair. You get them with most hair dye kits. I dyed my hair blue using the brand SPLAT. Its semi permanant i plan to buy color safe shampoo and conditioner but my ? is can i use the old conditioners from the hair dye kits?? I think my last two are from blonde and brwon hair. Or will it mess with my blue?

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

Yes the conditioner is just conditioner. It will be real hard to keep the blue in no matter what and the more you condition it the better. I also would not wash it as much as you normally would.

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

I don't think using the conditioner will mess with the blue.

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

I'm pretty sure using the conditioner is safe.

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

Those conditioners are put in all boxes....go ahead and use them up....Should not mess with your hair color....

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

i go to beauty school and this question came one believe it or not, it wouldnt mess with your hair anymore than the other shampoo and conditioner that prevents the color from fading out

Hair dye questions PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

Yes, you can use them.

I haven't tried this myself yet, but I've read that putting a small amount of the actual hair dye in your conditioner helps keep the color more vibrant, since every time you use conditioner it dyes your hair a little.

Hair dye??????

can anyone help me find it.

Hair dye tragedy?

I had dark brown hair, but had black regrowth so I dyed my hair a medium brown yesterday from tip to roots. The top of my head turned out lighter than the lower section which still seemed to be the same dark brown/black colour. I re-dyed my hair again today with the hair dye and highlights pack. My hair turned out medium brown, but the highlights on the top of my head are ORANGE, I'm not sure how this worked out since all the other highlights are hardly noticable. How can i fix this? should I dye my all my hair one colour or get streaks?

Hair dye tragedy?

If you are dying your hair youself that maybe the problem. Trying to dye parts of your own hair is really hard to do.

You may need to go to salon and have someone else do it. Then they can section if off and do it piece by piece. Then it will come out all one color.

Hair dye tragedy?

seek professional help to fix it before you damage your hair any further

Hair dye tragedy?

i say just dye your hair a color closest to the brown you have in your hair.. and wait until you can get to a stylist

Hair dye tragedy?

It's time to seek professional help. If you try to do anything yourself, you may end up with your hair falling out (it's happened to many people). They may recommend a cute, chic short haircut. Good luck!

Hair dye tragedy?

use a semi-permanent color. It should fix it. Match it close to your natural color. It does wash out but it will still fix it. Natural Instincts has great semi-permanent.

Hair dye tragedy?

google it

Hair dye tragedy?

Hair dye used near roots should always be applied LAST when dyeing hair - the heat from your scalp causes the dye to work quicker here so you could end up with a different colour to the rest of your hair (as you've seen).

If the dyes you used were permanent i'd wait a week at least before trying anything else on it - every chemical process can damage your hair and doing one after the other can cause many hairs to break off. After you have left if a week or so you could try a soapcap (which is a bleach diluted mixture) which should gradually lift the colour and then you could use that as a base for re-dyeing, however if you learn to live with the results of this dye job and avoid bleaching the better it would be for your hair. Failing that a hairdresser should be able to sort it without causing much more damage.

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans

* Yogurt

* Almonds

* Vitamin B

* Fish

* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

Hair dye???

What happens when you leave hair color in longer than the box says?

Hair dye???

Depends how long. My friend always dyes her hair and when she tried to dye it from brown to blonde it turned black because she didn't do something right. Then she tried to turn it back to brown and it turned red...now its a dark brown/black color.

Hair dye???

Most hair colors stop working after a certain amount of time on your head. I have often left mine on a little bit longer than said. It has never hurt my hair or caused the color to be off in any way. I wouldn't leave it on for very long periods of time just due to the fact that the chemicals are not good for your hair.

Hair dye???

depends on how long and what color, if your going blond, it could turn your hair green.

Hair dye???

the color migthnot be the same if over processed

if not right consider going to a stylist and not try to fix it or you risk damaging yor hair

Hair dye???

Hair dyed, how long to i wait to dye again???

Ok so i had my hair permanently straightened in June and I just dyed it brown on saturday but it doesnt seem very damaged by it. I had redish light hair and i wanted it to be a coool light-medium brown but it came out WAY toooo dark b/c the hairdresser left the dye it too long. My hair doesnt seem very damaged (as i said before) so i was wondering how long i should wait to get it dyed a dark blonde/brownish color, but much lighter b/c i look very weird with dark hair and i dont like it at all. So anyone who has expirience with hair dying, how long should i wait?? PLEASE HELP I AM MISERABLE WITH THIS HAIR! THANKS SOOOOO MUCH. =)

Hair dyed, how long to i wait to dye again???

Can't you go back and make the stylist make it right? You paid good money to have your hair colored and she screwed it up, she should make it right.

If the stylist used semi-permanent haircolor, you may be able to lighten it yourself by shampooing your hair several times with a clarifying shampoo.

Hair dyed, how long to i wait to dye again???

ur supposed to wait 6 weeks and on top of the straightening of the hair, it would be much worse if you dyed it too soon.

like ur hair will fall out if you dye it again. sometime soon.

Hair dyed, how long to i wait to dye again???

Well your haircolor will fade considerably over time. To speed up the process buy a clairifying shampoo and wash it with that untill you fade it out enough. It is tough and damaging to lighten a color that is too dark with hair color...you can't put a lighter color over a darker color to make it lighter it doesnt work that way she would have to strip some of the darker color out and that can be very damaging to your hair which is already damaged from chemically straigtening and coloring it. Try the shampoo thing and if you don't get it as light as you want let your hair rest a little while then find a new hair colorist!

Hair dye....?

I just got my hair done at the salon. It's highlighted and lowlighted. The highlights look great-- except for a small strand in the front. The majority of the blond is very light and pale, but there is a strip that is darker than the rest and very brassy [ it must have been a darker piece previously that was not bleached long enough.]

It is driving me nuts since it's right in the front-- I was going to try touch it up on my own. It's already blond, just needs lightened some more. What home remedies could i use to lighten this little strand? Or would you advise against it?

Hair dye....?

just bleach it a little

Hair dye?...?

Does it kill your hair? Lice? Are there any natural ways of colouring hair? Any companies that sell safe colouring kits?

Hair dye?...?

well... applying any kinds of chemical to your hair is bound to "kill" your hair one way or the other... natural way... u can always try the lemon juice and sunlight method...

Hair Dye..............?

I want to die my hair a different color im tired of my dark brown hair!! I Don't want to die it at home!

I was kind of going for hair like this:

http://www.mtv.com/onair/made/assets/fli...

(sorta redish)

or

http://www.mtv.com/onair/made/season_8/f...

http://www.mtv.com/onair/made/season_8/f...

(has kind of a purplish to it)

idk what to do i have brown eyes, brown hair and medium skin! I've never died my hair before but i want non-permanent!

If I get non-permanent will it leave stains on my hair?

I'm mainly aiming for hair like that but not to wild becuse in my school you can only have human hair colors so nothing to noticeable!

Also any pics you can suggest.

Hair Dye..............?

You can't really dye your hair a color lighter than it is without doing it permanently. It just doesn't work.

Also, even colors like burgundy (barely purplish brown) can get you in trouble at schools like that. I've known people who got suspended for having off-brown colors.

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

ok, so i have dark brown hair and i dyed my hair today and i used semipermanent hair color so it wouldnt damage my hair... i left the dye on for 15 minutes just like it said and then i rinsed it off and washed my hair with special shampoo.... the thing is, it was supposed to turn my hair kind of like a dark blonde caramel/reddish, but instead it came out looking pretty much copper-brown, its a pretty shade, but i dont know why it didnt work the way it was supposed to... also, the top of my head and my roots are MUCH MUCH redder than the rest of my hair, so it looks bad... what should i do, and what do you recomment for the next time i dye my hair if i want a blondish caramel color?

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

Lightening dark hair is tricky. It is worth the investment to go to a professional next time. The box should have a hotline number to call for extra help this time. Good luck.

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

a permanent color is more useful when going from dark to light. Any time you go from dark to light you're going to get darker results and it will look less natural. I recommend either waiting it out or going to a salon and getting it re-dyed. I wouldn't re-dye it yourself or else it might end up worse - much worse. If you can't afford to go to a salon try dying it a shade darker than your natural hair color, but red sometimes likes to stick so it may be in your hair for a little while. If you dye it the shade darker yourself, make sure you use permanent hair dye, and wait at least 6 weeks until you dye it again.

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

The problem was that your hair was too dark originally. When you dye your hair, it takes better to lighter hair. If you dye it again it should come out the color you want but wait a little while. Also a tip is to not wash your hair a couple days before dying it so that the dye will be absorbed better.

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

The color will fade as you shampoo it, hair always looks darker when you first dye it, I'd speak to the clerk who works in haircare and have her recommend a product with the results you are looking for. Wait at least 2 weeks before applying another colour. You can always use google to find all the brands of hair colour out there, "Garnier Nutrisse" "Natural Instincts" are both good products, sometimes it can be a hit and a miss when colouring at home, it never really does look like *whats on the box*.

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

Okay what to do is. go to a professional salon and tell them to do it right. it only costs like 60 dollars

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

ok, first off.... semi permanent hair color is not meant to be used for lightening your hair. semi permanent means it will eventually rinse out. so it must not have been semi perm color... the box may have been but the color and developer inside may have been different...

so if your hair is really skrewed up.. i suggest going to a professional, before you really mess it up!

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

As for my horrible experience that happened lately hun.

Do not color it any time soon and you have to keep in mind that not all colors work or come out the same way as it is showned in the box. I would probably and most likely go to a GOOD hair salon or studio and ask a hair stylist. Also, if you have previously dyed your hair it wont come out the same way as it's shown in the box since what it's showned in the box it's for "virgin" hair, hair that has never been colored before.

Your current color will most likely wash away so you shouldn't have to worry hun.. and it sounds like it looks nice anyways. =)

Hair dye gone wrong.... help, please!!?

you should leave it it sounds pretty

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

I heared that if you dyed you hair to much it could cause a cancer. Is this true?

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

THE CLAIM: Hair dye causes cancer

THE FACTS: Hair salons everywhere can reassure their graying customers.

For more than 30 years, scientists have warned that potent chemicals in hair dyes heighten the risk of developing cancer, but new research may now help to put those fears to rest.

Much of the concern stems from studies conducted in the 1970s that showed that some ingredients in hair dyes could damage human cells and cause cancer in animals. advertisement

Sales of the products began to slip when later studies found higher rates of breast, bladder and other cancers in people who dyed their hair regularly.

But last week, a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association looked at 79 relevant studies and concluded that the evidence for a link was weak.

In the studies, even people who colored their hair frequently or used strong permanent dyes that were thought to pose the most danger had no elevated risk of breast or bladder cancer.

The researchers found a "borderline increase" in the risk of blood-related cancers, which include leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. But they said the link was "too weak to represent a major public health concern."

Some potential carcinogens were stripped from all dyes in the 1970s, and others are used today only in minute quantities.

THE BOTTOM LINE: The evidence of a link between cancer and hair dyes is weak.

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

cancer, no. possible hair loss, yes.

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

some people believe that, I dont think it's actually been proven. if you're using a home dye though, definitely do a sensitivity test 48 hours before you apply the dye and dont use it if you have any hives or cuts on your scalp as it is possible for the dye to leak in and cause serious damage

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

I don't think so!

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

no

that is not possible

you have a name that sounds romanian. You are from Romania?

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

I don't think so but it might cause you to become addicted to dying your hair

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

I don't believe it and I dont' reallly think there is validity to the "no haircolor during pregnancy"

Haircolor has been around for a LONG time maybe 60+ years. If it did cause cancer or put you at a health risk then I think by now there would've been some sort of study on it already, don't you think?

Hair Dye???????????????????????????...

There was a study years ago that certain BLACK hair pigment used in haircolor may cause cancer. There are very few people that actually use true black haircolor because there are very few people that it looks flattering on. African American, Asians and Hispanics even usually prefer a deep, dark, rich, warm brown as opposed to a harsh gothic looking black.

There was also a red pigment in the 50's or 60's that was banned in the US because of cancer fears. It is still available in Europe and other countries. I have had clients that are international flight attendants that would only get their red haircolor done abroad because the beautiful, vibrant, possibly cancer causing red pigments are not available in the USA.

Chances are you're probably not using the European Red haircolor or a jet black color.

My hair wont dye with off the counter hair dyes!?

i bought an of the counter hair dye product so i could dye my hair around....dirty blond or LIGHT brown but the hair dyes just dont seem to work on me. i have natural dark brown hair [im asain] and i tried using Loreal and some other brand i cant remember...is my hair too dark for those colors to work on me?? whats the deal....?? ive used off the counter hair dye products before and they worked pretty good...they werent as light as the colors i chose this time but i would assume it shouldnt really matter. is there a stronger brand out there? i dont want to go to the hair salon to get my hair done since im not exactly growing money on trees...suggestions??

My hair wont dye with off the counter hair dyes!?

I'm a professional hairstylist!! You need to figure out WHEN the last time you coloured your hair?(how much roots are natural )How many times have you coloured %26amp; recoloured, %26amp; coloured again. If you have a darker colour on the hair (Also depends on whether it is semi-permanent or permanent or high-lift colour) (...Then recoloured again) you can't remove colour with colour. In other words you have to use a colour remover or bleach. This is a very tricky thing. You could loose all your hair, so needless to say the darker the hair the harder it is to remove. I suggest cap highlights with bleach; then a toner (light blonde) ( absolutely no ash tones unless you are trying to get rid of red or yellow brassy tones ) ALL this advice depends on your own specific problem. Dar Email me ...

My hair wont dye with off the counter hair dyes!?

Save your money and have your hair done by a professional.

My hair wont dye with off the counter hair dyes!?

Over the counters won't lighten your hair. You need to go have it done professionally. Your hair needs to have bleach added to the color to lift your hair color out and deposit the lighter shade. You won't see the results you want with anything you do yourself.

My hair wont dye with off the counter hair dyes!?

the cheep way is to buy the lightest color blod you can find and apply it to your hair, but watch it closely... when it gets to the color you want wash it out, if you botch it up and its to light just by the shade that you wanted a cheep brand and put it on for about 10-15 min...

Hair dye????

dont you think people are dying their hair 2 much, and worrying 2 much? Have you dyed your hair? how many times? Any what is the most common color?

Hair dye????

i have never dyed my hair but pretty much all my friends have but i dont like it! most people dye it black but EWE

Hair dye????

um many times I have no idea in the past 5 years and I am 16. I stopped dying it because it was very damaging to my hair and its addictive :/ the most common color for me was brown or blonde.

Hair dye????

im 13 and i have dyed my hair 10 times.

including highlights lowlights and streaks..

i stopped and dyed my hair back brown[natural color]

dyeing ur hair is too overrated now lol.

Hair dye????

8 years because its fun to shake things up once every little while, red/ brown.

Hair dye????

i will probably only die my hair to get rid of the grey. i hate people who dont stay natural. jsut be yourself.

Hair dye allergies?

After getting my hair dyed red last summer I had a severe reaction to the dye [was almost hospitalised]. Despite being told the dye was temporary by the stylist, it is now a year later and about half way down my hair it suddenly gets much lighter :P

I was really dissapointed about this as I'd been wanting to dye my hair for ages. I now want to dye my hair blonde but I don't really know the situation with bleach and allergies. And does anyone know about any alternatives to hair dye I could use?

Thanks! :)

Hair dye allergies?

What I would suggest to you is to go to a salon and tell the stylist what happened the last time you tried to have your hair dyed. Incest on a patch test to see if you are still allergic to the dye. You may not be as your system could have changed since then.

I've been a licensed cosmetologist for thirty years.

Hope this helps.

Hair dye allergies?

i don't know any alternatives because all hair dye has a chemical in henna tattoos, which isn't supposed to be in henna tattoos. if you ever had an alergic reaction to a henna tattoo when you were younger, then that is most likely your alergy and you won't get to dye your hair. sorry. :[

Hair dye wont cover?

Ok so I dye my hair constantly, I mean I wait the prefered amount of time to dye it but now it wont cover. Whenever I dye my hair the roots take to it but not the rest of my hair. My hair is now black brown and red because of the dye screwing up. Ive even tried using two boxes but it just wont work. How can I dye my hair but have it cover the whole thing not just my roots. Because it looks ridculous with red roots and the rest black. Anyone know of anything I can do? I also cant afford to go to a salon to get it done, but it really needs dyed badly. Can anyone help or tell me where I can get some help??

Hair dye wont cover?

First of all, I hope you will take my advice as I am a hairstylist. Here's a clue as to what has happened. Color does not lift color and that is why your ends keep darkening rather than going the color it should. Your roots of course will take to color because it is not previously colored. My advice is that if you do not like the color it is now, seek professional help from a stylist. I will tell you though that if your hair is severely damaged it is not wise to get it fixed. Most stylist's will do a soap cap which consists of clarifying shampoo, bleach, and peroxide to lift the unwanted color. Also if your hair is in good shape and is able to be fixed, be prepared to spend money that you really don't want to spend because we go by the amount of time it takes to correct your color. Secondly, once your hair is fixed and I am not by no means trying to criticize you, but go to a professional when it comes to color. Box color has metallic dyes and hennas that are not good for your hair and will make it dry and brittle. I hope you will take my advice. I know that you may not be able to afford going to a salon to fix your problem, but trust me as I have seen many mistakes on people(non hairstylists) giving advice to others to correct your problem. It won't happen. I am sorry about your hair. Please seek help or maybe someone can borrow you the money to get it fixed. Another option which I try to stay away from is to cut the hair if your not happy and is less expensive. One more thing, all the others might tell you to keep trying with another color or brand and because your hair is very porous it will just keep darkening rather than lightening except with the use of bleach. Plus, some of the box colors might not tell you what color they truly have in there and you might end up with green, grey, or an awful color.

Hair dye wont cover?

I'm a constant dyer as well. If the dyed part of your hair is black, you can't lighten it up to take another color without bleaching. Another issue is regarding the number of times your hair has been dyed (especially important for longer hair that sees more dying). Each time you dye your hair, you've damaged the strands of hair, and this will, over time, make the hair take the dye unevenly.

But my guess is if you've got to lighten the black first, and you WANT to do this at a salon so you don't end up with burnt-to-a-crisp hair that's strawlike and orange. (personal experience)

Hair dye wont cover?

You need to try to stick w/ one color and have several highlights put in w/ this color and eventually phase out to the whole color honey and just do the roots when they start showing about 1/4 inch probably about every 4 to 5 weeks. This will give you healthier hair and a more even color. I'd try for a color in between the three you have like medium ash brown and stick w/ it until some of it grows out and then start slowly cutting a 1/2 inch off each month until then so you will get the ****ed up colors out of it. If you highlight heavily w/ the med. ash brown two or three times in a couple of months you will soon get to do all of the roots w/ it and then repeat until you get the one color. Good luck!!

Hair dye? :(?

I really wanna dye my hair like a NICE brown, but i don't know what brand to use. Which brand gives you the best results? :D

Hair dye? :(?

all brands do pretty much the same.

buy one that includes some conditioner. so the color stays in longer.

also, you may wana consider buying a highlight kit.

it makes the clolor show better by using more than one shade of the same color.

Hair dye? :(?

Am not sure where you live but garnier nutrisse is lovely, they do dozens of different shades so alot to choose from ! :-)

Hair dye? :(?

nice n easy is good also garnier belle color is good to

Hair dye? :(?

The brand is less important than these things:

Do you already have color on your hair? If you do - you can't make it lighter with more haircolor, you have to bleach/pre-lighten first.

Are you going darker or lighter? Darker is easy, lighter is a little trickier if you have very dark hair naturally because you can only lift your hair 3 -4 levels with color.

Make sure your hair isn't damaged now, because box colors are fairly harsh - make sure you get one with lots of conditioners in it. I can't really tell you much about brands because I only use Redken professional dyes, but I can warn you - stay away from Feria! The colors turn out beautifully, but they react badly with some products, shampoos, and other dyes.

Hair dye? :(?

I like Feria :)

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

Two days ago I went to a salon to have my hair dyed dark brown, because my darker natural color was starting to grow out. The salon screwed up my hair and dyed my hair black. I lost $50 on this deal. Then, the next day, I decided to go to a different salon and have them repair the damage. The woman told me because my hair was black, we would need to clean and extract the previous dye, then start from scratch and dye my hair brown. She recommended a very light brown because she said the black and the very light brown would give me the dark brown hair I wanted, close to my natural color. Well, my hair turned out very, very light brown, almost a dirty blond. This cost me $100. I am very upset and my scalp is red and irrated from all the chemical treatment - my hair feels like it is going to fall out - its is very dry and damaged.

Is there anything I can do to make my hair the darker brown color that I want, without doing more damage to my hair and scalp??

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

go back to the salon and have them fix it the right way.

you should have gone back to the first salon first. I would not try anything yourself- go to the salon and tell them you hate it and you want it fix the right way. talk to the manager.

good luck- been there done it.

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

Let your natural hair grow out and then dye it the way you want.

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

Just leave it alone for a while--you don't want it to fall out! That is horrible that neither salon tried to correct it to your satisfaction and still charged you for it. You should call a different salon and see what kind of products they recomend to get your hair back to normal before you try to color it again. Good luck...talk about a nightmare!

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

OK 1. no more dyeing.... let it repair

2. u can use a highlighter for Ur hair ( the stuff that wash out in the shower is pretty much one of the only opinions u got. but trust me no more dyeing for a while.

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

go to a professional hairdresser.............it may be more expensive but it will get you what you want

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

I don't think that you need to put anymore chemicals on your hair at this time. It sounds as if your hair was very porous the first time it was colored. That is why it grabbed the color and made it too dark. There are colored mousses that you can use to acheive a darker look than you have now without coloring again.

You also need to use a deep treat conditioner to help your hair regain its moisture balance.

If you do decide to color again make sure that they do not use a permanent color on your hair. It is harsher than a semi-permanent. But for now I would leave your hair alone.

Hair Dye Question - Need Help!?

Hopefully, you have already been to the salon manager and demanded your money back.

As for your hair color, you might want to try a rinse. You will have to do it every day, but it will get your hair darker without damaging your scalp. They can look a little bit flat/single tone, but it would help get rid of a really bad color. Similarly, a brown shampoo with tinter in it will help over time.

However, if you have really damaged your scalp badly, you may want to do the coloring as little as possible, at least until your head starts feeling better. In the meantime, you will definately want to invest in some deep conditioning treatments to get your hair back into shape; you can get them at Sally Beauty or a similar store for $1 apiece OR simply put conditioner in your hair, wrap with a damp towel/saran wrap, and sit in steam for 1/2hr before rinsing.

HAIR DYE ADVICE PLEASe?

FULL STORY:

I had my hair professionally dyed reddish brown in August. The color washed out a bit, I did it myself using a golden brown. Which again faded %26amp; in November, I believe I dyed it an ash brown. This was the last time I dyed it.

The color has faded considerably into a reddish light brown which is not flattering on me. I hate the color but abstained from using dye to reducing damage since I've dyed my hair so much. It also has a green tint which can be seen in bright light, I assume because hair is porous due to dye.

SHORT STORY: My hair is now a reddish light brown that I hate. It has an odd green tint to it due to the fact that my hair is porous (b/c of damage). The last time I dyed it was around Nov.

THE PROBLEM:

Should I go to the salon and get highlights and/or lowlights?

OR should I do it myself. If so, I was planning on using Clairol's new Perfect 10 hair color that claims to reduce damage.

I want to go lighter to blonde.

Ask questions, I'll answer right away. :]

HAIR DYE ADVICE PLEASe?

i would stray from the box and bite your tongue and get it colored by a professional. you need a deep conditioning and a colorist who can bring life and real color back to your hair. i did the box thing before and it dried my hair out so bad and the color was never exact.

HAIR DYE ADVICE PLEASe?

If you want reddish, why not try henna? Unlike dye, henna is actually *good* for your hair.

HAIR DYE ADVICE PLEASe?

What you shuold do first before ANYTHING is go to the salon and get a conditioning treatment .. It will reduce damage by like 50 - 57 % !!!

Then get whatever you want done at the salon and ask some tips on how to get it not to fade as much

Hair Dye!!?

Ok I want to dye my hair! if it's black what's a good color?! blonde?red?pink? please help!!

Hair Dye!!?

well first you will need to decolor it in another words use bleech so other color will show up better, if you want light brown and and just throw it on your black hair it wont work (personal experience)

Hair Dye!!?

if u color it black its really hard to get that color out if u decide to color it another color. so a color that complements your skin tone.but i prefer wild colors so..... tell us what color complexion and eyes u have

Hahah hair dye whoopsie?

So i went to LA and i went in this hair dye place that specialized in hair dye(duh). I wanted to go auburn but they only had auburn for blondes left so I got some hair bleach along with the hair dye and bleached then dyed my hair. The only problem was that the auburn dye I got really was for brunettes it was just misplaced. So instead of having a brown base with a red tint it had a red base with a brown tint. Long story short I look like a poster child for peroxide. My hair is pretty much orange, and between bleaching %26amp; dying its also pretty much fried. Should I just own it like a savage or should I risk damaging my hair more to get a more natural shade. I spent about 75$ on the hair dye already so going to a professional stylist is a bit out of my price range(I know, I should've just gone there first to begin with!) so if I did try to dye it more naturally I would be looking at a 10$ at home dye kit from walgreens/longs. Any suggestions are helpful. Thankyou :)

Hahah hair dye whoopsie?

gutted.

Hahah hair dye whoopsie?

Okay. Don't risk it, your hair is your hair.

It will have to look ok, better than poor - managed hair (the outcome if you play with it too much)

Hair dye????????????????/?

is it ok to dye your hair when your pregnant?

Hair dye????????????????/?

Yes, its harmless.

Some people choose to avoid all forms of fumes or toxins in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy where the risk of miscarriage is high although there is no research linking hair colourant to miscarriage is malformation of the foetus.

Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

Hair dye????????????????/?

Yes. I can't figure out why people think that would be a problem. It's also okay to hang clothes out on the line. (Not that anyone does that anymore). They used to tell me if I hung clothes out on the line, the umbilical cord would wrap around the baby's neck.

Hair dye????????????????/?

no it could be harmful but dont be worried try those herbal dyes less chemicals going thru your bloodstream

Hair dye????????????????/?

It is usually ok. The only reason people tend to think it might not be is because of the fumes from the dye. If you are going to do it, i do recommend doing it in a well ventilated room. If you really are worried about it though, the best person to ask this to is your doctor. Just call up their office and ask the staff. They will usually know what your doctor would recommend in a situation like this.

Hair dye????????????????/?

Yeah Its Perfectly Fine But When Dying You Hair And The Baby Is Born,, Make Sure They Dont Smell It Because Of The toxins Which Can Harm your Babys System,, Im 13 And Ive Had My Hair Dyed Before So Theres Nothing To Be Afraid Of Just Dont Dye Your Hair All The Time Other Wise It Will Get Damaged

Hope Ive Helped

Hair dye????????????????/?

Well when i was pregnant, i read baby magazines that said NOT to use hair dyes, perm solution etc, as they contain PPD and ammonia, the baby might have an allergic reaction. Wear a wig till after the birth!

Hair dye????????????????/?

I wanted to know this to, not so long ago and was given this site off my midwife

http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/art...

i found that it really helped and have dyed my hair several times throughout my pregnancy and my baby is fine.

Hair dye????????????????/?

i think it's not okay to dye your hair anytime because it kills some of your hair roots and burns your skull.

i don't think you should dye your hair especially if you are pregnant.

ARE YOU PREGNANT?

Hair dye????????????????/?

yes but you shouldnt do it in the bath and you should have showers for the next few weeks until the dye has completely run out and stuck because it can cause miscarriage if it gets near the vagina.

also try to avoid dyes with ammonia and peroxide as these can have a negative effect because of the gases they produce.

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

So my hair is a medium brown color and I want to dye it black so I bought some black hair dye (Palette Schwarzkopf permanent black 1-0). I last dyed my hair dark brown in November but all the dye is pretty much faded out now as my roots don't even grow out in a different colour. If I dye my hair with the black dye, is there any chance of it coming out completely weird looking? My friend told me that you should never dye your hair with black dye because it looks completely different than the box, like more blue-ish. Is this true??? If I dye my hair with the black dye would it actually be black? PLEASE HELP!

Yes, there is a chance that the black dye MAY come out looking "blueish". My advice is to do a strand test (cut a small piece of hair off) first before dying your whole head and check it every 15 minutes. Just make sure that you don't put your test strand in a metallic bowl. Good luck!

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

Your Welcome - Good luck and thanks for choosing me as best answer :) Report It

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

Ya ur friend is right... My sista tried to dye her hair black it ended up purple blueish looking too...

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

Some of them can come out looking blue and very un-natural..

The key is to find one that says "Natural black" or "ebony Black" on the box..

But to be honest, the only one Ive ever experienced going blue-ish Swarskoff XXL ones (the fancy coloured ones).

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

yes it should do. i have dyed my hair black a few times and it always turned out black and i have medium brown hair. if you are not too sure why don't you get a semi-permanent hair dye that won't last as long.

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

When I want black hair, I always go with a Level 2 or Level 3 brown (a very dark brown. Black is a Level 1 haircolor). Typically, when you go with a Level 2 brown, it darkens your hair almost black and doesn't fade for quite some time. However, I hardly ever mess with black hair color. The results are usually very shocking. I would try a very dark brown and see how you like that before going with the black dye.

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

I would not advise it. I dyed my hair black once and I looked so pasty and gross. You have to have the right complexion to pull off black hair. Don't do it!!!

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

If you die your hair a darker colour than your hair colour then it should look fine

Hair dye - PLEASE HELP!?

I dyed my hair black in October and it's fine. When you wash they dye out it looks purple, but as soon as it dries it's fine.

My twin sister also did the same thing, but did hers in September. we just died underneath. Then we died our hair medium brown, but the bottom stayed black, so my twin died all of her hair black. I love it. So, to answer your question, yes your hair would stay black (until your roots came in)

Hair dye...................?

how to know whether a hair dye penetrates or not?????

Hair dye...................?

"Contrary to what many believe, the hair dye does not penetrate inside your hair and replace the color inside your hair with a new color.

Hair is virtually impenetrable. Think about it: If hair were easy to penetrate, every time you wash your hair, take a shower, go for a swim, some water would get inside your hair and eventually replace the pigments inside it. Your hair would become colorless and transparent.

But that does not happen. Just look at any person with shoulder length hair. The hair ends are of the same color as the roots (at least if it is not dyed, of course). So the part of their hair they may have been wearing for two years has preserved the same color as the new growth has.

Indeed, hair dye essentially is paint. It covers your hair with a different color on the outside. And the lighter the dye the more transparent (or at least translucent) it is. Hence, the final result, which is nothing more than a visual illusion, is a visual combination of your natural hair color and the dye.

Because of this, you can always go darker. Even if you're naturally platinum blond, you can go all the way to goth, and it will work because the dark dye will completely cover up your natural color."

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

I have naturally dirty blonde hair, but I've been dyeing it brown for about a year now. Yesterday I went to a hair salon to get it back to its natural color, and they started off by trying to strip out the brown dye, which left my hair an ugly, unnatural looking blonde/reddish color. Then they tried to put in highlights to lighten it up, but all they did was make the roots of my hair an ugly greenish light blonde that doesn't even match with the other color. They told me to just let my natural hair grow back, but that will take months and I can't even leave my house right now.

Should I go back to the salon and try something else (without bleach) to lighten it and get rid of the weird color, or should I just decide it was a failure and dye it light brown with highlights so that it isn't so bad looking?

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

You should go back. A salon has a responsibility to find out what it is you want, find out your hair history, and then let you know if your request is reasonable or not. If you had a beautition who either did not get a clear idea of what you wanted to achieve, or did not take a detailed history of what you have been doing with your hair over the past few months, then the salon is responsible to reconcile and make you satisfied. Unfortunately, making you satisfied may not mean fixing your hair at this point.

You should definately go back. If you are not a strong personality, go with a friend or family member who will put up a fight for you. They should compensate you with a free deep conditioner and maybe some product you can go home with. After your hair grows out a bit, they should have you come back so they can cut off and style the burnt or discolored ends.

Good luck to you. If they don't fix this situation to your satisfaction, you have the right to call the Better Business Bureau of your area and file a complaint. You would be surprised how that can affect a business.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

go bk now get your moany back and go somewhere else hun they pron only make it worse again if you go there again oh and tell all your frineds not to go there 2 :)

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

I wouldn't start dying it on your own. Contact the salon that did it and tell them that you are not satisfied. Ask for your money back...and then go to a salon that specializes in color.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

Try going to a different salon and see what they think, a second opinion can't hurt.........good luck

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

hope you didn't pay for the treatment. go to another salon and get a consultation if they can fix it. let your hair rest for a while though.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

i think you should go to the salon and be like fix my damn hair you screwed it up, i did that when they cut my hair and one side was like an inch shorter and they did it for free, idk you might have to pay b/c its dye but that's bad that they screwed up your hair.

and if that doesnt work,

dye it brown.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

no u shouldn't

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

if you say that they "messed up" your hair.. you can go back and tell them you are not happy with the job done and hopefully they will fix it for you free of charge.

But im not sure if youd want to go back to the same salon that couldnt get the job right the first time.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

The salon messed up, did u have to ay for that diaster? if u did i wud go back there as soon as possible and say u did this to my hair i shudnt of paid for this i really need u to fix it i cant go around like this, i think u shud just die it a light brown with some high lights so it looks somewhat normal. if they mess up that i reccommend going soemwhere else

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

to be honest if u didnt like it you should have said there and then, now uve paid for the treatment they might get a bit funny about changing it ( past experience ) so i would go to a different salon and see what they say, it makes all the difference i find. u dont wana go back there and they mess it up even more now do you?

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

if you really dont like it you should deffinitely go back and tell them. they should fix it for you for free since it was their fault. tell them that the color wasn't what you were looking for and that its hard to get used to.

hope this helped!

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

i think prb light brown with high lights.however you will prb have to do it again soon .the striper will prb cause make it hard to hold colors.so you might do it again in about 2 months dye it darker.or put alot of different colors in to help it blend.like browns, reds, and blondes

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

The sucky thing about this is, hair stripping is a nice way of saying powdered bleach. It does not get all the color out of your hair and alot of the times leaves patchy spots. What you need to do is go to a haircolor specialist. They will be able to help you a great deal. Be sure to call around, dont go back to the same salon, lol. Good luck!

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

I would go to a different salon then you went to and I would never trust the salon you went to again. I wouldn't attempt to do anything to it yourself though because you could end up making it worse than it already is.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

GO BACK TO THAT SALON AND TELL THEM IF THEY DO NOT FIX YOUR HAIR SO THAT YOU ARE COMPLETELY SATISFIED...YOU ARE REPORTING THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OR CONSUMER AGENCY(every state has one) and you plan to take legal action, too. No good salon would ever let a customer walk out like that! I hope you did not pay for it....if you did demand your money back, too. Make sure when you go in there, you let your presence known, let their other customers "see" and hear what they did to you.....believe me, they will make try to fix your hair very promptly....if they don't...REPORT THEM!!! I feel terrible for you, really. Go to a beauty supply store with a person who is a "color" expert and I am sure she will guide you through the steps to fixing your hair yourself. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

go back !! once, i wanted my hair cut to shoulder-length. that sh*thead went snipping all the way to my ear-length!

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

freakin sue them. no just kidding. go to a diferent salon that acuatlly knows what their doing, and ask them how u can get ur natural color without majorly damaging it. i think go back 2 natural cause with the brown u'll just be adding evn MORE color.

Hair Dye Disaster... The salon messed up my hair!?

THATS HORRIBLE! you need to go back to that shop and get your money back, go somewhere else to get it done. hairstylist like that burn me up, they give the rest of usbad reputations. without seeing your hair or putting my hands in it i would have to say that they shouldv'e not bleached you for one, they shouldv'e dies you back to a blonde with 40 volume(the highes you can go with out using bleach) and some tca drops in the color, and under the dryer for 10 min. 40 volume can damage the hair if you leave it on for a long time, hair color is normally 30- 40minuites. the tca drops turn a 30-40 min. hair color into a 15 min hair color, which helps save the condition of your hair. once you were blonde enought i would have gone back and put a few highlights in to make it look more natural, because natural blondes have up to 3 shades of blonde in thier hair. this is a fairly simple process, but when you get a stylist who doesn't like her job, or knows nothing about color and thinksshe does, this is what happens. the worst part abotu it, is that they knew they did a bad job, charged you anyways, and let you leave the store lookin like that. go get your money back and go somewhere else. they will give it back without a problem. and if not go over thier heads. i wish yo uthe best on your journey to blonde! and i'm sorry that that happened to you

Hair dye advice and washing your hair?

well im about to dye my hair and i havnt washed it all day...is it okay to dye my hair if my hairs greasy? and will it be greasy tomorrow? because i hear your not supposed to wash your hair right after dyeing it..

Hair dye advice and washing your hair?

its better to wash your hair when its not clean because then the dye sets in better. and it depends what dye you use, some dyes tell you to wash your hair immedietly afterwards.

Hair dye advice and washing your hair?

From experience (I've dyed my hair twice, and the first time was unwashed, second time I'd washed it), it seems best to dye it unwashed. The dye burned my scalp when my hair was just-washed, and didn't when I hadn't washed it.

I didn't notice a difference in the setting of the dye or anything, though; also, you're washing the dye out after it sets, so the hair shouldn't be greasy the following day, depending on how you wash it (if you use shampoo or not; I do, but some people apparently don't).

Also, I washed my hair as per normal after it was dyed and it didn't seem to be a problem (especially not for the black; it's been about a year, and the part that hasn't *grown* out has still not washed out, unfortunately). Granted, it probably depends on what dye you use and what sort of shampoo, but that's just a sidenote. :)

Good luck with the color. XD

Hair dye problems!? how many times can i dye my hair in a few days?

Last night i dyed my hair with a frosting kit and they were carmel highlights but they turned out very bright blonde and very uneven. my bangs were bright blonde but not the rest of my hair. so i bought a level 2 box dye and it said light brown because i didnt want it to come out really really dark. i dyed it tonight. it turned out orange/red!! i just want to get it back to medium/dark brown. Can i used another level 2 dye tomorrow?? or even a level one? i would get like a medium/dark brown this time, id rather it be too dark then too light. im just afraid dying it so much is really bad in like 3 days but they arent permanent??

Hair dye problems!? how many times can i dye my hair in a few days?

Meh... everyone says you have to wait months between dyings... but my sister CONSTANTLY screws up with her hair... or, hair stylists screw it up, i should say... %26amp; she ALWAYS goes day after day until she likes it... (max was 4 times in a week) %26amp; she's never had a problem.

I can't say this is true of everyone, as everyone is different...

but... that's the case with her!

I think that with a non-permanent dye you shouldn't have a problem!

Hair dye problems!? how many times can i dye my hair in a few days?

Dyeing your hair isnt good for it especially over and over again because it damages your hair and it can make your hair really dry and cause breakage

Hair dye problems!? how many times can i dye my hair in a few days?

You need to wait two months

Hair dye problems!? how many times can i dye my hair in a few days?

PLEASE call a professional!!!! I don't recommend hi lighting your hair with a home kit, but since you have the kit should have a phone number on it to call. you can call them and ask for advice but i don't know how much help it will be. You will need to use a permanent color on your hair if you want to cover the color it is for a while, the semi-permanent will fade very fast especially since it's real blonde, try a neutral brown that may counteract the orange red, I would not try an ash color that can tend to make the hair look grey,(yuck) I would rather have a bit of gold or red rather than ash or green.

If the color isn't permanent it won't damage the hair much, the hilighting kit will though. Please cal a pro and aksk for a bit of help, you can try a Sally's beauty supply even. Good Luck ! Wish I could help more

Bigen Hair Dye?

I have been dyeing my hair with Bigen-Oriental Black and now want to let that dye grow out as apparently you are not able to bleach it out or do anything with it.

Do you think I can dye the new growing hair with a regular jet black dye since those are bleachable? Will it harm my hair if the dye happens to touch parts of the hair previously dyed with Bigen?

Bigen Hair Dye?

yes you can dye it but i dont think you should let it grow and then cut the dark out

Hair dye color for punk hair?

My school is very strict about their dress code.

We wear uniforms and can't have odd piercing and girls can only have ear piercings.

We can't have distracting hair colors (nothing that's not natural (blue, bright red, pink, etc.))

I dyed my hair dark blue last year and got in trouble.

i tried explaining to them that no one would want to dye their hair strange colors but me (because my school only has about 400 students and their all mostly preps).

i have naturally black hair so how can i dye it to look more punk?

it would have to be a natural color (like blonde, brown, natural red)

please give suggestions that can be done at home.

THANK YOU!!

Hair dye color for punk hair?

A lot of my clients are in school and have the same problem! I really like leaving the underneath your natural dark color and then either completely coloring the top really, really light (blonde) or putting huge light chunks in it. Blonde and brown are both natural colors! I wouldn't do red because of your skin tone and there is a fine line between natural red and a red color your school would say isn't natural!

Hair dye color for punk hair?

hey i know whatcha mean. i got a pinkn streak and they flipped! try going brunette with chunky red streaks. the red would hav e to b darker tho

Hair dye color for punk hair?

i would say with your black hair a metallic red

Hair dye color for punk hair?

i would reccomend to buy something called manic panic.. it is a temporary hair dye that last for about a month..... i would reccomend to dye ur hair red and dye it on the bottom of your hair... or u can do streaks.... my friend did it on the side of her face!!! she looks so cool.. i did it and i did streaks along my hair..... it looked so cute!!!

try something like this... just imagine if her hair was black

http://rateyourmusic.com/misc/link_image...

Hair dye color for punk hair?

red would be punk

hope that helped

Hair dye color for punk hair?

that is EXACTLY how my school is about their dress code and etc. i just like to experiment with my hair so what i did was dye it a burgundy color. its a natural looking color but in the right light can appear to have a purple tint. i loved this color. try it over the summer and if it is not too obvious then you know that you can keep it for you school year! good luck and i hope it works out for you!

Hair dye color for punk hair?

red streaks wud look nice

Hair dye color for punk hair?

why dont you just bleach it and cut your hair short, i am sure their is alot of blondes their so they cant tell you anything.

Hair dye color for punk hair?

You can a FABULOUS hair style with natural colours, guarunteed!

Look at these! I know these are boys, but the colours and hairstyle would still look GORGEOUS on a girl!

http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u276/...

http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa64/...

Just bleach (or dye blonde) out a few strips of your hair and then add the natural red.

You can check Garnier hair colours, because I belive they have a line of natural hair colours like red, blonde, black and brown!

Have fun!

Hair dye color for punk hair?

there are not realy alot of things that you can do from home and still have it look punk!! You can do something like beech your bangs or just the underneith!! You might want to try to just go to a salon and have it done!!!! Im in vegas come to me ill make your hair look punk!!!!

Hair dye color for punk hair?

My school has the SAME policy.

I Dyed my 2 chunky highlights that were bleach blonde

And they said it was fine :]

Just get a bleaching kit and take about an inch of hair and bleach it. But since your hair is so dark you might have to do this more than once.

And get someone to help you. Its so much easier :]

Hair dye color for punk hair?

Hair dye color for punk hair?

Hair dye color for punk hair?

Bleach some streaks and keep them blonde or possibly dye them red or auburn in the front. Experiment with haircuts to change things up too.

Hair dye color for punk hair?

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

1) I'm a teen with medium brown hair that has never been dyed and I want to dye it light brown or dark blonde but I want my hair to have some highs and lows (like natural hair) I don't want it to look like I dumped a bucket of paint on my head - what kind of do-it-yourself hair dye is best - details please!

2) I have waist long straight hair that has NEVER been cut I mean never not even a trim in my whole life so, as you can imagine it's really uneven with a lot of split ends (the split ends are 2in max.) before I dye my hair I want to get it blunt cut to the middle of my back - where is the best and cheapest place to get it cut? Are the cheap places like greatclips and supercuts going to cut my hair straight or do I need to go to a decent salon? Thanx

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

honestly... i think u should just git a hair cut... plz DONT dye ur hair... i dyed mine... and believe me ur hair will git much weaker its just better 2 stick with ur natural hair color... also it depends wat age u r... if ur in ur early teens... u might not want 2 dye ur hair cuz when u actually want 2 when ur older... ur hair will be 2 weak... unless ur like 19 going on 20 soon then u might want to consider lite highlights...

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

if you live in portland oregon then i can help you, email me..... luvgal792003@yahoo.com

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

cheapest is to be a cut %26amp; color model for local school

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

Once you dye your hair you have to keep doing it. Its gonna look like you dumped a can of pain on your head if you dont get your roots done. Its gets expensive and it dries out your hair. You will most likely have frizzies. I dyed my hair when I was 15 for the first time. I med. brown hair and I went dark blond. I looked like a poodle. I am now 18 and finally my hair is my natural color smooth and silky because i havent dyed it since.

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

just get ur hair highlighted

HELP!! hair dye and cut!!!?

First, Great Clips is a descent place to get your hair cut. They do not do color.

Second, once you get your hair cut, continue to get a trim to clean things up every 6-8 weeks from now on.

Third, I would try temporary color first to see what works best before doing permanent color. Permanent color damages the hair and if you don't like it and want to change it there's even more damage. Temporary color gradually washes out and will last a certain amount of shampoos.
