Im using this hair dye to streak my hair, not fully color it. The dye i got is not intended or advertised for doing streaks. I want to know if you can use tinfoil with this dye. Ive heared that alot of dyes cant come in contact with metal. Ive read the box and the paper and it doesnt say anything about not using foil. Has any one had any experience with this, or are there any beauticians out there.

you can, but make sure the streaks are very, very thin. also, put in very few at first... gradually add in more.. this way you can't go wrong.

Hello, I am a Asian girl with natural black hair. I've decided to change it up a bit and dye it at home. I plan to bleach the bottom part of my hair blonde. Yet I want to do two colours and need a colour for the top part. I want it to be either red or a light brown but I don't know if it would work. YOU don't dye it . . . go to a salon! Whenever you go from dark to light it is extremely damaging to your hair and a home job could end in complete disaster . . . not to mention the disappointment you'd feel when the blonde ends you coveted turned orange instead.

Hon you really really really need to go to a salon for the bleaching part. Asian hair is VERY VERY difficult to bleach, and because it's so thick, it doesn't bleach evenly. Once you've gotten it professionally bleached, you can color it yourself (well, with some help).

You're going to have to bleach it first, otherwise the colours won;t turn out the way you wanted them to.

I would suggest you get the bleaching done at home and then you can use any box of dye to do the colours - but you could try Garnier 100% colour. It has pigments which last longer.

To make it last longer, don't wash your hair every day, and when you do wash it, use a product specially formulated for coloured hair. and rinse with cold water to seal in the cuticle. Use moisturizing products to keep the colour vibrant.

Okay i have tried all home hair colour like actual colour for reds blues and greens etc and colours usually when you do it at home stay in for a couple of days then fade away. I'd reccommenned going to a hair salon but if you are dead-set on doing it at home i heard covering up your hair in foil or somthing and warming it up with a hairdryer makes your colour stay in like 50% longer.

Honestly, I suggest you go to a proffesional to do you hair. Yes it may cost a lil bit more money but atleast they are trained to do color. If you do it yourself not all the time you will come out with a good result but keep it in mind. I had really dark hair and I had a proffesional apply the color, and it looks lovely. It is now really light brown. So yes a great color can be done, and it can be done in whatever colors you like but don't be the "professional" let the proffesional give you what your heart desires.

Well first you bleach it all... then redye the bottom part eitgher bleach it again or use a blonde... becuase your hair is natural black it may be a little tricky to get it all blonde in the 1st shot... the split you hair and put either red or light brown on top... right now my hair is red with black underneath it stands out more than the blond underneath... go to either a local hair store or a wlmart to buy dye there are alot of kinds to chose from... i use revlon it seems to stay in longest for me

As for keeping the color in... it can be tricky.. ive had to dye my hair 3 times before the color didnt fade within a week... but use shampoo for colored hair.. also if you go red they sell things for red hair it helps the color not fade

First off.... I'd really say go for the red on top. Black and brown looks cool, yes, but I'm not a big fan. I think red looks better. Black hair dye is a commitment, whether you use permanent or semi-permanent dye. The hair dye companies do a terrible job of telling people just how permanent it is. When I have decided to get rid of my black hair, I have always let it grow out and cut it off. You can bleach it out and then color your hair back to your natural color. This is best left to a professional, especially since you say your hair is thin.

There is hair bleach and there is different volumes of it get the lowest volume. It should come out but ur hair will be orange u have to get another color dye.

Black is a tough color. Thin hair (I have thin/fine hair) tends to soak up dye way more that thick or coarse hair. You may have to go see a stylist for help. I had to bleach mine out to get rid of the black and now I use a really good conditioning balm to keep my hair moisturized and a protein repair to keep my hair stronger.

Well since you dyed it black it takes alot longer to come out. Your hair will be fine...you can use a toner, or take a lighter hair dye and put it over to lighten it...i did that before it worked great! Good luck :)))

the dye will eventually fade but keep washing it. the more you wash it the more it fades. however, there may be unwanted colors that will show up like green and blue.these colors were added to the dye to intensify the darkness.

try a malibu ,you can get this done at any salon its not vety expensive and it will take out any empurities in you hair and any extra color laying on you hair shaft the only other way to get this out is to do a bleaching shampoo which is vey difficult and extremely hard on your hair as a last resort if it does not come out get some subtle highlights to lighten it up better look and less damaging

i learned in school that if you shampoo your hair twice a day using Dawn Dishsoap then condition normally then that will help fade color. also use hot water, not warm. that also helps color fade. good luck

but my hair is natually dark brown-black

I died it dark brown bout 2 months ago but it came out practically black and then faded again so its returned to the light brown it was from when I died it previously.

i use revlon color silk number 47. ive been told that on me it looks like chocolate but a little darker. but not dark chocolate. on the back of the box it says for dark brown/black hair it will look dark brown. and to me it's really pretty. hope i helped!

Just make sure that you pin back the hair that you just dyed black, because otherwise it will turn your hair a funky color. =) Make sure that you let the bleach get really white before rinsing it, because if you don't and it is yellowish, your hair won't turn out blue, it'll turn out green. Last night, I decided it would be a good idea to dye my bangs blue. This turned out to be an awful idea; it looks awful... I used Raw Blue Black Permanent Hair Color (the kind of dye that can be bought at Hot Topic). I was wondering if

a. Raw brand happens to be a type of direct dye (it comes in powder form, you mix it with water and it contains no ammonia, peroxide, or metallic dyes)

b. If anyone knows how to get this out of my hair (I already tried Color Oops, which did not work at all) or at least get it back to looking similar to what it was (dirty blonde is my natural color).

go to your closest hair supply store and get hair stripper or bleach, that happend to me, i have blonde hair and i used Manic Panic and it turned out to look like a huge strawberry... i used hair stripper and bleach(they are kinda the same thing)

so i bought this dye from the store. but when i got home and read the instructions i found out that there was a cream i was supposed to buy separately and i have to mix the two. well what would happen if i just used the dye but not the cream? I think the cream that you needed is the activator for the color base. If it is, then the color won't develope without it.

I'm guessing that the cream you are talking about is peroxide or a booster. Peroxide helps to "lift" the darker color to a lighter tone. So if your extentions are light and the color you're going for is darker, then you won't need the booster. But, if your extentions are dark and you're trying to get a lighter color you will need it in order to get the right color.
